Worker Safety Solution

Enhance Situational Awareness in Hazardous Environments to Improve Safety & Efficiency

Real-Time Awareness Optimizes Decision Making

The men and women at work in refineries, chemical plants, inland drilling and extraction sites, mines, or on offshore rigs perform in demanding environments. Contractors and visitors unaware of security procedures or hazards require extra attention. Managing area entry and exit is extremely important, but many companies rely on inefficient, manual check-in or inaccurate self-scanning procedures. During mandated evacuation drills, muster captains commonly use a clipboard and walkie-talkie to count personnel. This wastes time, and in the chaos of a true emergency could mean tragic consequences.

AeroScout's comprehensive worker safety solution contains several key applications – with one common, very important component – real-time visibility.  In an emergency evacuation, personnel are mustered at specific gathering points.  The AeroScout Evacuation Monitoring solution automatically monitors workers presence, confirming and recording location in real-time.  This improves critical situational awareness during an emergency and enables quick location of missing team members.  Additionally, the Evacuation Monitoring solution is proven to reduce evacuation drill times by up to 50%, translating into hundreds of man-hours saved per year in drills.

How the Worker Safety Solution Works

The AeroScout solution improves provides an active mining RFID tag to each person, vehicle and emergency response equipment on the site. The tags send regular, short bursts over the Wi-Fi network containing location, status and condition information. Worker safety tags include a call button and no-motion indicator that can trigger a distress signal. Exciters create choke points to alert on entry into a safe zone or restricted area. The robust MobileView software— integrated with existing systems—offers the control room real-time, full visibility of the situation during a critical event.
