The AeroScout T2 Tag is the leading Wi-Fi Tag for RTLS (Real Time Location Systems), with more units deployed than any other tag of its kind. It has proven usability, dependability, scalability and flexibility for a wide variety of industries and applications. These rugged, battery-powered tags can be used for people and for a wide variety of equipment, such as medical devices, containers, manufacturing equipment and vehicles. Tagged items can be accurately located in real time and in any environment – from tight indoor locations such as hospital departments or manufacturing floors to open outdoor spaces such as parking lots or distribution centers. In addition, the same tag can be used for immediate chokepoint detection, call-button alerting, telemetry applications and more.

Wi-Fi Compatibility

T2 Tags leverage standard Wi-Fi infrastructure, keeping costs low and making deployments simple and fast. The tags' wireless messages are received by standard Wi-Fi access points and can be used to determine the location and status of mobile assets and people. T2 Tags utilize a unique beaconing method (instead of associating with networks) that keeps network impact low and ensures scalability and long battery life.

 

Room and Bay/Bed Location Resolution and Chokepoint Detection

T2 Tags include embedded Low-Frequency (LF) receivers and optional Ultrasound receivers. AeroScout provides the only tags on the market that have this unique tri-mode functionality with Wi-Fi, Ultrasound and LF. Ultrasound signals do not go through walls and thus ensure accurate room-level resolution when and where required (e.g., determining that a nurse is attending a patient in his room or real time tracking of critical equipment par levels in utility rooms). T2 Tags also provide notification when a tagged person or asset passes through a gate, doorway or other tightly-defined area (e.g., a wandering trauma patient leaving the ward unattended, a trailer arriving at a dock or a worker in a hazardous environment reaching an evacuation/mustering point).

 

Long Battery Life and Status Alerts

The T2 Tag contains a user-replaceable, standard ½AA battery that provides up to four years of battery life with capabilities to report on the battery level and alert when low. The tag also has a built-in motion sensor to conserve battery life when the tag is inactive.

 

Flexible Mounting and Usage Options

Multiple mounting options are available for the T2 Tag, including mounting cradles, screws, tie wraps, badge clips, belt clips, Velcro and adhesives. This enables the use of the tag on a wide array of assets and in various environments.

 

Call Button Messaging

The T2 Tag has an optional call button feature that adds the ability to define events according to the push of a button. This enables advanced functionality such as emergency reporting when a person is in a duress or distress situation, signaling that a device requires repair or signaling for parts replenishment.

 

Telemetry Capabilities

T2 Tags have customizable telemetry capabilities and include an external serial interface for data retrieval from host devices. The tags can retrieve valuable data such as infusion pump operational status, gas exposure or pressure measurements periodically, and send that data wirelessly in addition to the location messages.
