Semiconductor Equipment Tracking

WIP Visibility

Fab operators spend valuable time manually searching for thousands of wafer lots each day in order to transport them between the different workstations and tools. AeroScout provides the only Wi-Fi-based solution that can accurately track wafer lots at their exact location on racks and reduce the search time of each lot from several minutes to less than one minute. Processing wafer lots in a timely manner is critical for the efficient execution of the fab’s manufacturing schedule. When the operator is required to process a wafer lot, he is provided with the lot’s exact location on the rack. Furthermore, once the operator walks towards the rack, the AeroScout tag provides a visual indication (blinking lights) to enable pinpointing of the lot on the rack and shortening the search time. The solution reduces dramatically wafer lot processing time, increases production throughput and ensures cases are not misplaced or lost. Reducing a few minutes of each operation step ensures an optimal dispatch schedule is maintained and has a great impact on the entire production process that includes thousands of steps per day.

Equipment Visibility

AeroScout provides real time and historical location of mask (reticle) cases and equipment used for maintenance and calibration; users can easily search for items whether they are located on or off racks. Tracking this equipment and improving shop-floor visibility drives production efficiency, increases throughput and expedites orders.

People Safety

Providing real-time location of workers, visitors and safety crews in case of an emergency is critical to ensure efficient evacuation and comply with regulations. AeroScout Exciters are positioned at doorways and provide immediate detection, monitoring people as they exit the building and reach safe areas or gathering points.

Telemetry and Sensors

AeroScout tags feature temperature, humidity and motion sensors and can link to a broad range of additional sensor and telemetry data sources. This enables the tags to wirelessly transmit valuable data, and automatically trigger alerts or actions based on reaching a threshold. For example, monitoring exposure level to gases and chemicals or monitoring the temperature and humidity of production areas.

Container Management and Inbound Logistics

Containers, components, equipment and materials are constantly moving between buildings, suppliers, warehouses, fabs and assembly shops, creating an asset visibility challenge. With AeroScout, managers can track shipped items and receive notifications upon items arrival or pick-up, improving traceability and ensuring items arrive at their correct destination.
